Why You Need A Password Manager
I talk to colleagues all the time about companies that have been hacked or individuals who have fallen victim to identity theft. Surprisingly many of the victims had weak passwords or passwords that were leaked in a data breach. This year 83 companies have had data breaches where customer data was compromised. Those companies include, but are not limited to AT&T, Twitter, and T-Mobile, just to name a few small organizations 😉.
Most of this data ends up on the dark web and is sold to individuals for the purpose of identity theft. And there’s little chance of it slowing when it’s one of the least convicted crimes. So as a small business owner or an individual who does not want their identity stolen, what do you do?
Obtain a password manager.
Reset all your important passwords starting with your email password.
Enable Two Factor Authentication on any account that supports it.
Make all your passwords unique.
